In light of the coronavirus pandemic and the CDC's endorsement of cloth masks for individual use, many mask distributors are struggling to accommodate for extremely high demand, creating shortages of these useful supplies nationwide. We are creating washable, reversible, and reusable cloth masks to help alleviate the local need for masks and provide help to as many people as possible. We currently offer two types of masks: Type A and Type B (click here for more information). All prices reflect the lowest production cost per unit, consisting of only material and labor costs.

CURRENT IMPACTS AND CONTRIBUTORS

In addition to selling masks directly to the public, we have created and distributed hundreds of masks free of charge to vulnerable individuals through medical institutions, including the Dell Medical School. The idea for creating cloth masks for our community and health institutions was originally given by Dr. Nabanita Basu from Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital. This concept was built upon by Arefa Sewing School's founder Shahnaz Nagle, who realized that money raised for the cause could further help our community by employing refugees trained by our school. Since the idea was first proposed, both women have contributed significantly to the donated masks by connecting many donors and funding to this cause.

Additionally, we would like to recognize the Austin South Asian community, who were some of our first donors and gave us a huge amount of financial support early on in this effort.

A big thank you goes out to Dr. Basu, the Austin South Asian community, and all donors who have given money for this cause! We are very grateful for your help, and are proud to say you have helped protect our community from the coronavirus!

All mask orders must be picked up in person. Please use the following table to locate masks for purchase at the location nearest to you.

For the first two locations, please feel free to visit them in person to pick up your masks. For pickup in the TX-71/Hwy 290 E area, your masks will be made after you order them through the link, and we will send more information about where to pick up your order.

IMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION

Please note that the type of payments we accept differ based on which location you will order from (see the above table). Cash payments will be charged when each order is picked up. If you would like to use PayPal, please note that there is a required $0.50 service fee per mask that you must add to your total.

MASK INFORMATION

Type A masks are reversible cloth masks designed for general purpose use. We recommend these for anyone in non-clinical settings. (See more example images at the bottom of the web page.) $5/unit.

Type B masks contain a pocket for a disposable air filter to be placed inside. These masks offer greater filtration than the Type A masks. We recommend these for clinical use, but they also work well for general purpose use. Filters are not included with the sale of these masks. $7/unit.

We are able to produce these masks on an individual basis, as well as in bulk for organizations such as doctor's offices and hospitals. As with all of our products and services, 100% of all proceeds go directly towards refugee women, who are facing financial worries due to these uncertain times.
